Consultant Update - August 20, 2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

PLANNING FOR OUR FUTURE AT THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH: Over the last several months, church leadership has been planning our way forward. We wanted to share with you some of the insights as we move forward with a Consultant Project. In the past, we have utilized consultants to help steer our church through other challenging times. The last two consultations that our church participated in was in 1997 and 2008. Session has approved the hiring of a consultant to help guide the church in 2020/2021 and into the future. We have risen to the challenges of previous years and genuinely feel that we can rise to the new challenges that we now face.

Tom Bandy is our consultant and is guiding us through the process. Mr. Bandy has over 25 years of experience as an independent consultant working with churches across the spectrum. He has also published over 30 books on the subject as well.

This month, the staff is exploring demographic trends, lifestyle diversity, life concerns, and program priorities. Different Committees and groups will provide their insight into the foundation of trust, life-shaping worship, and education and training, to name a few areas that will be discussed beginning in October 2020. Because of the pandemic, the consultation process is expected to last until October 21, 2021, and will involve coaching to help us become a relevant church in a post-pandemic world.

We will be sharing information and videos in the coming months. You are always welcome to share your comments and insights on this blog page.

Please be in prayer for the exciting opportunities in our church's future as we share the love of God will all. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to email them to  , and they will be forwarded to Greg Eyler or the appropriate person to answer your questions.
