The Presbyterian Church Blitz News for the week of 7/16/2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

Dear Friends,

Hi, Presbyterian Church family. We hope that everyone is doing well. The Sub-Committee on resuming worship met this week. The committee took into consideration the up-tick in COVID-19 cases in our area and the possible action of the Governor moving us from a Level 3 Emergency to a Level 4 Emergency described in the Ohio COVID-19 Advisory System. They chose to continue with online worship at this time. The Sub-Committee will meet again on July 27, 2020, to reassess the situation. We are hopeful that we can worship again in-person but want to do so in the safest way possible.

ONLINE WORSHIP CONTINUES THIS WEEK with our four-part sermon series on Ruth, God’s Invisible Hand. Pastor John and the team are once again down on the farm this week.  We hope you can stream our services on Facebook or our website. The Traditional Worship Service will be streamed live on Facebook at 9:30 a.m. The Contemporary Worship Service will be broadcasted at 10:45 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. All services can be found on our Facebook at www.facebook.com/thepresbyofhamilton or by clicking on our “Sermons” icon on our website at www.thepresby.org.

**We have some reminders and new information to share with you this week**

NEW ONLINE BIBLE STUDY - Committed Couples: If you’re like many of us, you find yourselves going through the motions or gritting your teeth and holding on at times to make it through the day! A Bible study is now being formed that will dig into how we can start cherishing each other daily and how that can have a powerful effect on our relationship. This Online Bible Study is a six-week Bible Study program that meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., and runs from August 12, 2020 - September 16, 2020. The study is based on the book Cherish by Gary Thomas & Beth Graybill and will be facilitated by Mark & Kelli Provart. Please email info@thepresby to let us know if you want to be part of this exciting new option. Registration is required. We will need to email you the Zoom meeting specifics for you to join us.  You must purchase your study guide. Study guides can be found on Amazon.comfor $10.89 for paperback or $4.99 for Kindle version.

REMINDER- STAYING CONNECTED: The nightly news lately has been challenging to watch, and we are concerned for those friends and members of the congregation that may feel anxious by the circumstances they may find themselves. Pastor John and Pastor Kim are trying to reach everyone and are on their third round of contacts using the Church Directory. They are asking for your assistance reaching our Presbyterian Church family. This week they are asking that each of you pick up your phone or computer and reach out to a couple of members of your church family this week. Let them know that you are thinking about them.  I’m sure the people you call will be grateful to hear a friendly voice and to know you care. Back in March, we shared an updated Informational Church Directory. If you have misplaced your copy, please call the church office, 513-867-5411, or email Trish at to make arrangements to get your copy. We look forward to the day when we can put all our current challenges behind us and worship together. But until then, Stay connected! Stay safe! Stay healthy!

RETURN TO WORSHIP INFORMATION: Listed below are some more details you need to keep in mind when the call is made to return to Phase II in-person worship. Each week we will share more information to help us prepare for that time.

  • When we begin Phase II in-person worship, seating will be blocked off in six-foot sections to help maintain social distancing for family units. (A family unit consists of a single person who lives alone, a married couple, or those that live in the same home.) Also, carpooling between family units is highly discouraged.
  • A weekly reservation system will be used to help us prepare for Phase II in-person worship. More details on this system will be share when the call is made to return to worship.

Please know that we miss you, and you are in our prayers. Your staff continues to take the steps necessary to resume in-person worship when the call is made and is providing online worship to help us get through this difficult time. We are one in spirit!  If you need to speak with someone, please contact the church office at 513-867-5411.  Stay strong in Christ together!
