We Are All Under Construction
This is the time of year when there’s lots of road construction going on everywhere. Years ago Billy and Ruth Graham were driving along a highway, where there was lots of construction and lots of orange barrels. They were crawling along at 10 mph, when they finally came to the end there was a bright yellow highway sign that said, “End of constuction – thank you for your patience”. Ruth leaned over to Billy and said, “That’s what I want on my gravestone someday.” And it is.
When you think about it, all of us are under construction, and all of us could use a little more patience. Maybe there’s someone you could show a little more patience to. Maybe someone at work, maybe someone in your neighborhood – but in the end, remember God’s been patient with us. We need to be patient with others.
