The Presbyterian Church Blitz Email Update - April 23, 2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

Dear Friends,

Hello. We hope this email finds you doing well and that you are enjoying the sunny Spring days. Join us this week at 10:00 a.m. at www.facebook.com/pg/thepresbyofhamilton/videos, for worship. We are grateful for the encouragement we get from our online community. Be sure to scroll down and look for the red "Live" balloon and click on the live video while the service is airing. We ask that each of you reach out to those that do not have the online connection and let them know we are thinking about them. They would love to hear from you.

On Sunday, if you are going to the website, www.thepresby.org, to watch the video, please allow us a few extra minutes to get the video link loaded to our website “Sermon” page. We are striving to get the service posted there by 10:05 a.m.

If you did not get the opportunity to watch last Sunday's worship service, you can find it at https://www.facebook.com/thepresbyofhamilton/videos/2774577315973101/

We have a few updates and other information to share with you this week:

UPDATE - National Day of Prayer: Information change from last week's Blitz - We have modified this year's National Day of Prayer to a Facebook "LIVE" event on May 7, 2020, at Noon. There will be no in-person breakfast event this year. Join us at www.facebook.com/pg/thepresbyofhamilton/videos for this community-building event.

UPDATE - Ways to Help Our Neighbors: Pastor John Lewis, Pastor Kim Katterheinrich, Tim Wolfe, and several other members of leadership have learned that the Community Meal Center and Serve City Pantry have closed during this pandemic. They have been working with area organizations that have stepped up to fill the void of these closings. The Salvation Army, First United Methodist Church, Open Door Pantry, and New Life Mission all have stepped up to answer the call, and they could use your help. We have gathered the information for their needs and included them in chart-form to this email as an attachment. The requests include physical donations, monetary donation, and volunteering your time.

If you are unable to take your physical donations to the organization on the chart, you may bring in your contributions to The Presbyterian Church. The church office at 23 S. Front St., is open Mon – Thurs, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Volunteers may be needed to sort and deliver items to these organizations. If you would like to write a check, above and beyond your regular giving, please make it out to The Presbyterian Church, and indicate COVID-19 Donation and the organization you would like your donation forwarded. The organizations shared with us that they can negotiate better pricing for goods with your monetary contributions. Thank you for your consideration of helping our neighbors. PLEASE PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES. STAY SAFE! STAY HEALTHY!

Small Groups are highly encouraged to move to a digital format for meetings. We ask that you continue to pray for one another and find a non-physical place to meet; phone, text, Facebook, Zoom, Uber phone, Go-to-Meeting, etc. The Trustees & Session have used Zoom for their meetings this month, and everything went well. We have developed a cheat-sheet. If you would like a copy, please email , and she will be happy to send you a copy. You are invited to call the office at 513-867-5411 if that works better for you.

Giving: THANK YOU to our friends and congregation for your continued financial support of the ministries here at The Presbyterian Church. The staff is very thankful for your generosity as we continue to re-imagine ministry and worship. Our worship is reaching people for the first time, our congregation here, and those that have moved away. God is working in mighty ways! If you would like to contribute, we have three options to give. Your offering helps to provide for ongoing ministry, facility-related expenses, and your staff here at The Presbyterian Church.

  • You may mail a check to the church office at 23 S. Front St., Hamilton, OH  45011.
  • You are invited to visit our website at www.thepresby.org and click on the "Give" icon, and then click on the red hyperlink.
  • The third option is to go directly to our ShelbyNext link at https://www.shelbygiving.com/App/Giving/thepresby to give.

We look forward to the future when we can worship together in-person and continue to pray for God's protection over you in these challenging times. We are stronger together!
