The Presbyterian Church Blitz Email Update - April 30, 2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

Dear Friends,

Hello. We hope that you are doing well! We miss seeing everyone. Pastor John attended a conference call this week with the Miami Valley Presbytery. The Presbytery is advising us not to rush forward with in-person worship, but to methodically return to in-person worship format when it is proven to be conducive to a safe, social distancing, worship. Your Presbyterian church team is planning how to make this a reality as soon as possible, and we have some exciting things to share with you this week.

WORSHIP SERVICE ADDITION! The staff has started to adjust to our new normal, and we are now able to offer two online worship services beginning this weekend. The Traditional Worship Service will be aired live on Facebook at 9:00 a.m., and the Praise service will be broadcasted at 10:00 a.m. Both services can be found on our Facebook video page at www.facebook.com/pg/thepresbyofhamilton/videos or by clicking on our “Sermons” icon on our website at www.thepresby.org.

NEW & IMPROVED ACCESS TO ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICES! The process of viewing videos from the website has been streamlined. When you land on the www.thepresby.org website homepage, click on the “Sermon” icon below our Mission Statement, and this will take you to a list of sermons. You are invited to click on “Watch” next to the video you wish to watch! We hope this makes for a more enjoyable worship experience. The new process no longer takes you to our Facebook page to view the video. Note: if you are going to the website to see our service immediately when they are scheduled to be released, please allow us a few extra minutes for the staff to get the video new link loaded to our website. We are striving to get the service posted there within five minutes of the start of each worship service. We heard your requests! Thank you for your patience.

If you did not get the opportunity to watch last Sunday's worship service, you can find it on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thepresbyofhamilton/videos/229948884772767/

We have some reminders and new information to share with you this week:

Reminder:  If you have any prayer requests, please email those to  . Also, if you have any prayer updates or praises, please share those as well.

Next Thursday, May 7, 2020, at noon, join us for National Day of Prayer. The link to the church’s Facebook video page is www.facebook.com/pg/thepresbyofhamilton/videos. This video will be posted on our website as well as soon as possible.

Volunteer Outreach Request: Have you enjoyed seeing our online services? Do you have the knack for technical details or want to learn? When we get back to in-person worship, we are going to need a team of volunteers to help with Sunday Worship services and broadcasting our services on Facebook. We have had to upgrade our equipment to meet our online worship needs, and we are looking for several individuals who are willing to help continue this outreach. We will be training our volunteers so that they feel empowered to serve and comfortable with the process.

Our online services are reaching people in our congregation and those who don't attend here or anywhere. It is incredibly humbling to know we are extending the reach of God's message and The Presbyterian Church. If you are interested in supporting this outreach, email the AV team at   and  , or the church office at  .  You are also welcome to call the church office, 513-867-5411.

Reminder - Ways to Help Our Neighbors:  We continue to work with area organizations that have stepped up to fill the void caused by the closing of the Community Meal Center and the Food Pantry at Serve City. The Salvation Army, First United Methodist Church, Open Door Pantry, and New Life Mission all have stepped up to answer the call, and they could use your help. We have attached the chart of needs to this email again this week for your convenience. Donation requests include physical donations, monetary donation, and volunteering your time. Thank you for your consideration.

We continue to lift each of you in prayer and hope that you are handling the challenges created by this pandemic well. If you need to speak with someone, please contact the church office, and we can lean on each other. We are stronger together!
