The Presbyterian Church Blitz News for the week of 5/14/2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

Dear Friends,

Hello everyone. We hope that you and your family are all doing well. We miss you and look forward to the days ahead when we can worship together. The guidance we are receiving from the Miami Valley Presbytery and PC(USA) carefully breaks down the return-to-worship process, and your staff is sifting through the documents to develop a plan forward. We want to err with caution on gathering and anticipate that this process will be done in phases. We will share more details when we have more concrete information. In the meantime, we hope you can see our worship services online and can find encouragement from the weekly message and music.

ONLINE WORSHIP TIMES THIS WEEK: We will continue to stream our services on Facebook and our website. The Traditional Worship Service will be aired live on Facebook at 9:30 a.m., and the Praise Worship Service will be broadcasted at 10:45 a.m. Both services can be found on our Facebook video page at www.facebook.com/pg/thepresbyofhamilton/videos or by clicking on our “Sermons” icon on our website at www.thepresby.org.

**We have some reminders and new information to share with you this week**

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR THIS WEEK:  Trish will be out of the office next week, so we are asking that you forward your prayer & praise requests to Erika Davis for next week. If you have any prayer requests, please email those to . Trish plans to be back in the office on May 26, and resume taking your prayer & praise requests at that time.

GRADUATE PARADE: Are you ready for some fun? Linda Bonham and the Christian Education Committee has put together a Graduate Parade on Thursday, May 21, 2020. The congregation is invited to join the parade as we celebrate our seniors that are graduating this year. Everyone is asked to gather in your cars at 5:45 p.m. to receive instructions. The parade plans to depart promptly at 6:00 p.m. You are welcome to bring cards for our graduates, Leah Ross, Clare Halcomb, Paige Parrish, and Alanna Schaffer. Pastor John will lead our Graduate Parade. We will plan to have a worship service soon to celebrate our Seniors.  Please remember to practice social distancing protocols. Stay safe! Stay healthy!

VBS: The Christian Education Committee has decided to cancel this year’s VBS due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we would love to have VBS, the health and wellbeing of our children and our congregation are paramount. The Sunday School is still sending out weekly activities to all our children in our KidZone program. Be sure to have your children watch Ms. Linda each week as she presents Children’s Chat on our online worship videos. Please consider having your children leave a message on Facebook during the service. We’d love to hear from them!

PRESBY CAR SHOW: The determination has been made to cancel this year’s Presby Car Show. We look forward to 2021 when we can join together for some 60’s music and fun.

PRESBY DERBY: The Christian Education Committee is making plans to have the annual derby later this year, possibly in the Fall. More details will be shared when that information is available. If you have not purchased your car yet, please contact Linda Bonham or the church office, 513-867-5411, to make arrangements. Each kit is $5.

SOUND & VIDEO VOLUNTEER OUTREACH REQUEST: Have you enjoyed our online services? Do you have the knack for technical details or want to learn? We are looking for individuals who are willing to help continue our Audio and Video outreach. We will be training our volunteers so that they feel empowered to serve and comfortable with the process. Training will begin as soon as it is deemed appropriate to have volunteers come into the church office to serve. We would like to train before we start in-person Worship. If you are interested in supporting this outreach, email the AV team at and , or the church office at   You are also welcome to call the church office, 513-867-5411. We cannot do this alone, we…need…you!

Your staff appreciates your ongoing support. We appreciate your financial gifts and your words of encouragement as we continue to provide ministry here at The Presbyterian Church. If you need to speak with someone, please contact the church office, 513-867-5411, and we can support each other during this challenging period. We are stronger together.
