The Presbyterian Church Blitz News for the week of 8/27/2020

Posted by Trish Reynolds on

Dear Friends,

Hello. We hope that you are doing well. The staff continues to seek out alternative ways for us to stay connected. This week we begin our GREEN SPACE GROUP GATHERINGS. These gatherings are designed to help us gather in small groups at area parks. Please do not worry if you weren’t contacted this week about these gatherings. We will continue to roll out these small group gatherings throughout the rest of the Summer and into Fall so that everyone has an opportunity to join in a time of socially distance, masked, and safe fellowship. We want to be together, and these are the first steps to returning us to Phase II in-person worship and other events.

The Task Force to return to worship will meet again on Monday, September 14, 2020, to reevaluate the infection rate in our area, the lessons learned at the Green Space Group Gatherings, and the re-opening results of schools and colleges in the area. Please continue to lift all of this group in your prayers as they weigh every aspect connected to re-opening in Phase II worship and other church events.

Pastor John Lewis and his wife, Heather, are excited to announce the wedding of their daughter, Taylor Lewis, and soon to be son-in-law, Kevin Krivanek, on Saturday, September 5, 2020. As many of you know, they have had to modify the original wedding plans because of the pandemic restrictions. In an effort to include as many friends and family members, arrangements have been made to live stream the wedding. Please join them at 3:00 p.m. that day to watch the pre-service and wedding on Facebook, at www.facebook.com/thepresbyofhamilton. There will be a Socially Responsible Wedding Parade after the wedding beginning around 5:00 p.m. in the Front St. parking lot. Those who want to share their best wishes may do so by entering the parking lot through the Court St. entrance.

ONLINE WORSHIP CONTINUES THIS WEEK. The Traditional Worship Service will be streamed live on Facebook at 9:30 a.m. The Contemporary Worship Service will be broadcasted at 10:45 a.m. All services can be found on our Facebook at www.facebook.com/thepresbyofhamilton or by clicking on our “Sermons” icon on our website at www.thepresby.org.

Our scripture of encouragement this week is 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

We hope this encourages you today and every day this week. Please know that you are missed and are in our prayers. Thank you for your continued support during this stressful time.  We are staying connected in Christ!. Stay safe! Stay healthy!
